Avoiding common errors
Follow these tips to avoid some of the common errors when calculating and paying levy:
- Calculate the levy payment on the amount insured, NOT on the premium.
- Include GST with payment, and use the most recent GST rate.
- Sum insured values shown in NZD. Calculate the levy payment in NZD. When dealing with overseas policies, make sure you convert all values in the local currency to NZD.
- Ensure bank fees/costs are paid in full by the levy payer when paying from offshore.
