Get Out! Stay Out! Resources

Get Out! Stay Out! is an early childhood education resource for teachers. This fire-safety programme is appropriate for pre-school children aged from three to five years old.

Please note: firefighter visits are primarily available for junior primary schools who have completed the Get Firewise programme and assessment activities. Other Early childhood education and school visits are limited by availability of crews.

E Puta! E Noho! Ki Waho! resources

These Māori-medium resources are for kōhanga reo and puna akoranga.  They complement more advanced fire-safety resources in te reo Māori delivered to tamariki in Te Kura Kaupapa Māori: Māui-tinei-ahi fire-safety programme.

Please note: firefighter visits are primarily available for Kura who have completed the Maui-tinei-ahi junior school programme and assessments. Other school visits are limited by availability of crews.

Firewise resources

The Get Firewise programme is Year 1 & 2 primary school teachers only.

Get Firewise is a curriculum-based resource that gives children of primary age the knowledge and behaviour they need to stay fire safe and escape from a burning building.  

Please note: Firefighter visits are available upon completion of the Get Firewise programme and teachers’ assessment activities.

Māui-tinei-ahi resources

Māui-tinei-ahi is a fire-safety programme produced by Fire and Emergency New Zealand for year 1 and 2 students in Kura Kaupapa Māori-medium classrooms.

Please note: Firefighter visits are available upon completion of the Māui-tinei-ahi programme and kaiako assessment activities.
