Your checklist
  • Get low

    Smoke is poisonous and more deadly than flames.

    If you breathe smoke for more than a few breaths it can kill you.

  • Be fast

    A house fire can kill you in less than three minutes.

    Don't spend time trying to save possessions.

  • Close doors

    A closed door buys you time.

    It slows down the spread of fire, giving you more time to get to safety.

  • Get out - stay out!

    People have died by going back into a fire.

    Don't leave the meeting place to go back inside for any reason.

This is an application that Fire and Emergency New Zealand provides to help career staff with real-time notifications of incidents for the appliance they are riding for their shit.

AMS Active is made available on an ‘opt in’ basis.  If you agree to use it, you must first download the application and register as a user. 

As part of the registration process and ongoing use of AMS Active, Fire and Emergency will collect the following personal information about you:

  • your name.

The personal information we hold in AMS Active will only be used within AMS Active and only to enable it to function effectively.  

Besides yourself, information stored in AMS Active will be shared with:

  • Fire and Emergency’s AMS Active system administrators
  • Capgemini, as the AMS Active system service provider
  • Microsoft, as the Azure hosting system service provider.

You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information Fire and Emergency holds about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong.  If you’d like to ask for a copy of your information, or to have it corrected, please contact us or email us.
