New members for Local Advisory Committees

New members for Local Advisory Committees

Fire and Emergency is pleased to announce appointments to our Chatham Islands and Tairāwhiti Local Advisory Committees.

Following a robust recruitment process four new members have been appointed to the Tairāwhiti committee and two new members will be joining the Chatham Islands committee.

All members are well respected in their community, represent a diverse range of interests and offer strong local connections and knowledge. Their insights and the variety of skills and experience they offer will be incredibly valuable as we work to enable communities to better prepare for, respond to, and recover from, emergencies.

You can find out more about the new and existing committee members via the links below:

The Chatham Islands and Tairāwhiti committees are two of seven set up in 2020 to provide local, independent advice to the Fire and Emergency Board about what communities value, their needs and the risks they face. Our LACs help to strengthen Fire and Emergency’s relationships with communities and shape the future of our support for them by enabling us to better understand what matters - now and in the future.
